Pearson Tests of English (PTE) is a fast result delivering English test which evaluates the English proficiency of candidates who wish to study abroad or immigrate or acquire a job in a foreign country. It is accepted for visa applications among institutions and governments around the globe. It tests Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Questions often test 2 skills together, such as listening and reading or reading and speaking. The whole test is done in a single session, lasting 3 hours and is taken sitting at a computer in a secure test environment. The speaking part of the exam is done on the computer. Your voice is recorded and sent for marking.

One advantage of this test is that you get your results very quickly; in about 5 days.

To perform a PTE Academic test, you will need to visit a secure Pearson test centre where you will be provided with a computer and a headset to listen to, read and respond to questions and a marker and rough pad.

Part 1 : Speaking & Writing (77 – 93 minutes)

Part 2 : Reading (32 – 40 minutes)

Break : 10 minutes (The break is optional)

Part 3 : Listening (45 – 57 minutes)
